At present you can top up your account using bank transfer only. We accept SEPA payments in Euros and local payments in Czech crowns.
Yes, we plan to accept credit cards in the medium term future. At the same time we are working on implementing a semi-automatic top up processing system, which should significantly increase the top up time through bank transfer.
You will find all necessary information in the CO2IN app. Go to the Wallet tab and click on Top up. Choose one of the top up options and fill out the desired top up quantity. You will then be informed about how to make your top up. Please follow the instructions carefully to prevent any issues.
Account top up over bank transfer is free of charge. However, note that if you top up your account in Czech crowns, we are converting the amount to Euros at a specified rate.
Depending on your financial institution, we will receive and process your payment in 1-3 business days. Top ups in Czech crowns are usually faster, because most local banks already support immediate transfers.
At present we support Euros and Czech crowns. If you send us money in another currency, e.g. the US Dollar, it will be automatically converted to one of our supported currencies by our bank. In this case, we will treat it as a top up in the currency in which our bank credits our account.
We accept payments from all supported countries, or any other countries using the SEPA protocol.
If you have sent the top up and more than 5 working days have passed, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will investigate with our bank.
There can be several reasons why your payment was sent back. Primarily, this will happen when we are unable to identify the account to which the top up is intended. Be sure to always include your payment reference (10 digit code provided by the app) to help us identify your payment. Other reasons are exceeding your limits, or other issues with your account. You can always reach out to email@example.com to get help on your situation.
This is one of the principal requirements of anti-money laundering (AML) regulation that we follow. We can only accept payments to CO2IN accounts from the same individual (or company), as is the holder of the account.
The minimum top up amount for a single top up is currently €4, or 100 CZK.
At present, you can top up up to €400 for an unverified account and up to €10.000 for a verified account. These limits are cumulative. Therefore they do not reset.
If you have an unverified account, we strongly recommend account verification, which will significantly increase your limit. If you need to increase your limits beyond those of a verified account, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unfortunately, we can only confirm if your payment has arrived or not. If you find that you have sent your payment to an incorrect account, be sure to contact your bank or payment institution as soon as possible. They may be able to help you recover your funds.
Our system and/or back office staff will check all incoming payments and if there are no issues with account matching or limits, we will credit your account according to the amount that has arrived to our accounts. Otherwise, we will either contact you, or return the payment.
Without an account ID, we will not be able to match your payment to your account in our system. Please reach out to email@example.com with a payment receipt from your bank (ideally in pdf format) and we will try to help you. If we are unable to match the payment, we will do everything to return it to the sender.
Sending an incorrect ID number with the transfer will most likely mean that the top up will not be successful. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with a payment receipt from your bank (ideally in pdf format) and we will try to help you.
We process almost all incoming payments within 1 business day from the moment of their arrival. In case of delay, the issue will most likely be with the payment provider. However, in doubt, you can contact email@example.com and we will have a look.
On successful confirmation by our system, you will receive a pop up notification from your app. Please make sure you have notifications enabled in CO2IN app Settings.
CO2IN credits its users accounts with the amount that is received in our bank account and in line with our policy on converting Czech crowns to Euros. There are no fees for bank account top ups. For some international transfers, in particular those outside of SEPA, a payment may be withheld by one of the intermediary banks used for the payment. CO2IN does not have any control over this process and it is your responsibility to check this with your bank before sending the transfer. In any case, you can get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you.
You can use your CO2IN account without ever topping it up. However, in order to purchase CO2IN tokens you need to have funds in your EUR wallet and top up is the way to do it.
There is no charge for a bank payment top up through local payment in Czech crowns. However, as the CO2IN Wallets are only held in Euros, your top up will be converted. The conversion rules are clearly displayed in the app and also in our Tariff.
The conversion of Czech crowns to Euros is done using the current exchange rate as published by the Czech National Bank (cnb.cz) as a benchmark. The rate is taken at the moment of processing by CO2IN. This rate is adjusted slightly for both Top up and Withdrawal. For Top up, the CNB exchange rate is increased by a margin displayed in the Tariff. For Withdrawal, the CNB exchange rate is decreased by a margin displayed in the Tariff. This margin is also clearly displayed in the app for both actions. At present it is set at 0,1 CZK. Therefore, for a CNB exchange rate of 25,2 CZK for EUR, the Top up will be done with the rate of 25,3 CZK, while the Withdrawal will be done with a rate of 25,1 CZK per EUR.
While you theoretically can send other currencies to the CO2IN Top up account, we highly discourage it. Apart from the fact that the payment may be refused by the bank, the amount send will be converted by the bank. We have not control over this. Once received, we will have to process such a Top up as having been done using the currency into which it was converted, in the exact amount credited to our account. In case the payment has been converted to CZK, it will be further converted to EUR according to the rules set in the Tariff.
For a Top up in CZK, the conversion rate (after application of the margin) is always clearly displayed in the CO2IN app transactions. Please note that the Czech National Bank changes the reference exchange rate around 14:30 and we always use the exchange rate “as is” on their website at the time of processing. Therefore, Top ups processed in the first part of the day will use the exchange rate historically listed as the one for the preceding business day. And Top ups processed after the new daily exchange rate has been announced on the CNB website, will use the new rate as the benchmark from which the conversion rate is calculated. Should you have doubts about the conversion process, do not hesitate to contact us.
